A Napa architecture firm with a client-first mentality, and a decidedly fresh perspective.

About JLA

Jacques Lesec Architecture is a design firm based in Napa, CA. Our mission is to help people create inspiring spaces that are honest, authentic, and rooted in natural context. We create timeless designs that redefine the modern farmhouse style while honoring its core heritage.

The Napa Valley is an exceptional place to live and work. From view points to indoor/outdoor spatial planning, our custom home designs incorporate the ethereal beauty that surrounds the area. By relying on sustainable, locally sourced materials, refined natural finishes, and colors and textures inspired by the land, JLA homes are designed to feel both luxurious and comfortable.

Meet Jacques Lesec, AIA

With over a decade working as both an architectural designer and as a project manager on high end residential construction projects in the Napa Valley, Jacques brings a unique perspective to the table. His intimate knowledge of the construction process informs the framework for his collaborative design approach, which advocates for close collaboration with both homeowner and builder to deliver the best possible outcome.

Jacques began his career working for several award winning firms in Los Angeles and New York City, including XTEN Architecture, Belmont Freeman Architects, and Oyler-Wu Collaborative, where he collaborated on several highly published design concepts - most notably XTEN’s aMahouse in the Pacific Palisades.

Jacques moved from Los Angeles to Napa in 2016 and accepted a Project Management + Design position at Schmitt + Company General Contractors and their sister company The Home Index. Over the years, he gained valuable construction management experience, working on complex multi-million dollar custom estates.

Jacques Lesec earned his Master’s degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), and his Bachelors of Arts at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). When not designing buildings, Jacques enjoys contributing to his local community as a large format metal artist. His sculptures have been featured at the Bottle Rock Music Festival, Napa’s annual Lighted Arts Festival, CIA Copia, and the Ruth Bancroft Gardens in Walnut Creek.
